The Sims 2 is just the regular, plain-old base game, where as Sims 2 double deluxe has The Sims 2 plus The sims 2 nightlife, and the Sims 2 celebration stuff pack.
Nightlife has cars, driveways, a downtown area, and vampires!!
Celebration stuff gives you anything to throw a rockin' party, new cakes, sweet balloons and anything wedding related.
But I would suggest waiting another 18 days to buy the Sims 3, as it is shipping on February 20.

i got it on amazon a bit ago, and double deluxe was $14, whiel sims 2 was $20 ;)
and yes, double deluxe is the sims 2 base game in addition to the nightlife expansion pack and the celebration stuff pack.

Just to let you people know, the sims 2 double deluxe is FOR DVD ROM ONLY!!! ...(I found out after I had already bought it, taken it home, unwrapped it, and put it in my stupid CD ROM drive! So I had to sell it back, buy the sims 2 nightlife from ebay, and wait 2 WEEKS to get it! ... *sniffle* ...)

The Sims 2 Double Deluxe is awsome! It has the sims 2 nightlife and celebration stuff. Nightlife is an expansion pack (EP) and celebration stuff is a stuff pack (SP). I got it for my birthday and now I have sims 2 seasons, pets, university, open for business, appartment life, and glamour life stuff. Get it the sims 2 is awsome! But be forwarned: The Sims 2 is addicting!!!!!!!!
Sims 2 is just the normal sims.
Sims 2 Double Deluxe includes: Nightlife Expansion Pack and Celebration Stuff.
In Nightlife you get to download cooler cars off of mod sites because most cars to download require nightlife. Also Nightlife has Vampires! You get to go clubbing! lol
In Celebration stuff you get to hold weddings and perfect partying stuff!

Ok i have sims 2 double deluxe and it is about 3 times better. The double deluxe comes with The Sims 2 base game, Nightlife Expansion Pack, and The Sims 2 Celebration Stuff expansion pack. So usually at Target it is only about $30- $40 so you actually getting more for your money.
I think that buying The Sims 2 Double Deluxe is a better buy.
Yep buy Sims 2 double deluxe, it has original sims 2, nightlife AND celebration stuff. Sims 2 just has sims 2. Did you hear 20th of February Sims 3 is coming out ?!! It is great, you can add their own personalities and everything.

it's also good if you have vista instead of xp like i have because the sims 2 isn't compatible much at all with vista, but in double deluxe, they fixed this 'bug', to make it compatible.
I just bought Sims 2 Double Deluxe last night at Wal.Mart, and Sims 2 Double Deluxe has: Sims 2, Sims 2 Nightlife, and Sims 2 Celebration Stuff.
And I got The Sims 2 Double Deluxe for only $19.99!

The Sims 2 double deluxe is the base game with 2 expansions(Nightlife and Celebration Stuff) built in. It works just the same as The Sims 2. If anything it's probably better to buy double deluxe over the original.
Sims 2 double deluxe has Sims 2 ,Nightlife, and celebration and stuff. I had it for about 6 months. It is a great deal because it is only $19.99 at all stores. Also ther is cars, vampires, vampire coffins, and other awsome things.
Well, Sims 2 is just plain old Sims 2 and Sims 2 Double Deluxe had Nightlife, Celebration Stuff, and comes with the original Sims 2.
Sims 2: Double Deluxe has Sims 2, Sims 2: Nightlife and Sims 2: Celebration Stuff. The game and 2 expansions.
I own the sims 2 double deluxe %26amp;%26amp; It is the actual game %26amp;%26amp; plus an expansion pack. It works perfectly with any expansion!

You get 3 games in 1 with double deluxe for the same price (i think) as just getting Sims 2.
Sims 3 is coming out soon though so i'd either get double deluxe or wait for Sims 3 :)

well sims 2 is just the game but the sims 2 double deluxe is better and has more things such as nightlife sims2 and celkebration pack so it is better . hope this helps
