The Sims 2 neighborhood terrain is a grass closeup?

In The Sims 2 when i enter a neighborhood the terrain is the same as what you see if you go into a lot and look at the ground close up with high settings. (e.g. grass) and not the normal green 'blanket'. i am running Windows 7 and have downloaded all patches, i own all ep's and sp's, and have only checked in lush neighborhood's in in-game summer. this has been happening since i got my new laptop (windows 7 not XP)The Sims 2 neighborhood terrain is a grass closeup?
Are you saying that you see grass in the neighborhood view? You're supposed to. That green blanket you saw before is grass, but your previous graphics or graphical settings showed it at a lower resolution. If you want to lower it to see a worse resolution (and I don't know why you would), go into the settings and change the texture detail. If that's not what you mean, take a screenshot and link to it on here so we can see.
