What is the difference between regular Sims 2 games and expansion packs?

I am looking to buy more Sims 2 games on ebay because they are all up for sale because Sims 3 recently came out. I have all expansion packs for my sims 2 games at the moment and I was wondering what the difference of regular Sims 2 games and Sims 2 expansion packs. Sims 2 is the general base game but the expansion pack adds on to the base game. It introduces new features to the game, like the Seasons expansion pack will now feature the different seasons in the game whereas the expansion doesn't.



It just adds more variety and more stuff to do if you ever get bored of playing the base game only. I recommend it though!
Sims 2 is the base game. the expansion packs add more items to your buy and build menu. they bring with them a new set of furniture or maybe new fabric choices for your furniture. more flooring and wall paper or paint. some might have new items for your garden area as well. it also adds new activities that your sims might enjoy. like open for business lets them run their own business by using their skills. pet lets you have and raise pets. nightlife lets you go out in your own car and even has vampires and gypsies.

Sims 2 is the base game. The expansion packs add more features and allow you to do more in your sim world. By "regular sims 2 games", I thought you meant the base game. There is only 1 of them. "The Sims 2".



If you have all of the expansions, how can you buy more? And also, "for all my sims 2 games".....there is only 1 actual game.....the base game. :S
In Sims 2, the difference between the original and the expansion packs, are quite small. But The expansion packs just give you furniture options, more clothing/hair options etc. Other then the game itself, theres no difference.What is the difference between regular Sims 2 games and expansion packs?
Depending on the expansion pack. Like say Sims 2 Pets...it's pretty clear what it has.
