how long do i have to keep the kids in school for when i've got married in level 5. or is it until i finish all my other goals???The sims???

What sims are you talking about? I play on the PC and my sim kids do grow up and since I have university, I can decide if they go to college the second they turn into teens.
Edit: In the sims 1, if you don't want to deal with your kids anymore, send them to private school. You will never see them again though so think about it befor you do it.The sims???
you got to keep your kids in school untill they grow older.
