The sims..?

I have the sims university and the sims pet,but I can't use them alone,and I'll have to buy another sims for them to work.

If I bought the regular sims 2,would they work?The sims..?
The expansions packs just load onto the original Sims. So it just makes the origninal game better. Its so great!

You definitely need "The Sims 2" that is the base to all the expansion packs. University, Nightlife, Pets, Seasons, Family Fun Stuff type things all need The Sims 2.The sims..?
It is REQUIRED to get The Sims 2 game in order to play the expansion packs such as The Sims 2 University and The Sims 2 Pets. Of course the original Sims 2 would make them work, you just bought the expansion packs for nothing. Without the original Sims 2 game, those expansion packs you bought are useless.
Yes, you need the regular, plain "Sims 2" downloaded onto your computer before you download your expansion packs (University and Pets). Enjoy...
